The most important thing that we can do right now to protect our community, our environment and our values is to work now for Democratic electoral success in local, state and federal offices in 2017 and in 2018.
As many of us experienced during the November election, phone banking is much less effective than in past years. Door to door canvassing starting NOW is critical for both the 2017 and the 2018 elections. Neighbor to neighbor contact is something that money can’t buy. Many voters skip non-Presidential year elections — every voter that we speak with is many, many more times like to turn out to vote blue in November 2017 and November 2018.

Hudson Valley Strong is joining with other activists to support the NY19Votes July 23rd Summer Canvass. Canvassing now is critical to Democratic electoral success in both the 2017 and 2018 elections.
We’ll go door to door to register and engage Democratic voters, emphasizing why voting in the November 2017 local elections is key to turning Dutchess county blue. We’ll also get the word out about great local candidates.
Canvassing is easy and fun! There will be a short training session where we’ll review the canvass scripts and the walk lists. Inexperienced canvassers will be partnered with those who have experience. Even if you only have a couple of hours to give, join us! It will make a difference. (Training sessions will start at 1P; though a prompt arrival is appreciated, training sessions also will be held for those who arrive later.)
Meet us at the Rhinebeck Town Hall at 80 East Market Street, Rhinbeck, NY 12572.
Invite your friends, family and co-workers to join us! All are welcome. RSVPs to David Weiner at firstname.lastname@example.org are appreciated but not necessary.
