June 28th, Wednesday, 6:00P–8:00P – Tell the EPA in Person: Protect People and Wildlife, Not GE

Thanks to Riverkeeper for their work on this issue.

This Wednesday, the EPA is holding a public workshop in Poughkeepsie to
explain its decision to abandon the Hudson River Superfund cleanup and leave two to four times more toxic PCBs in the river than expected. Let the EPA know that you demand that the clean-up of toxic PCBs from the Hudson River continue until the river is truly clean.

This workshop is our community’s best chance to pressure the EPA to compel GE to complete the PCB clean-up.

To demonstrate public support for a health Hudson River, Riverkeeper asks for people to wear a green shirt and to assemble at 5:30P at Poughkeepsie’s  Mural Square. After a short rally all will march together to the EPA workshop to be held in the Terrace Ballroom of the nearby Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, 40 Civic Center Boulevard, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

Riverkeeper has prepared  a flyer  with additional information and sample workshop talking points.  RSVPs to Riverkeeper  are helpful but not required.
