Monday, May 22 6:30P – 8p Hudson Valley Strong ‘Action Team’ General Meeting – We Need Your Input!
This month’s meeting will be held May 22nd in the Church of the Messiah’s Parish Hall, 6436 Montgomery Street, Rhinebeck, 12572. The Parish Hall is towards the rear of the Church, near the parking lot (the entrance is at Scheer Cleaners). The meeting will start promptly at 6:30pm and end at 8:00pm. (Sorry, there isn’t time for snacks.)
This meeting will be a little different from those in the past. We are billing this as our ‘Action Team’ formation meeting. The membership has been asking about more ways to resist this administration and to protect people from it. There are many ways to do that. At this meeting we will provide information and tangible ways to get involved. We’ll have tables set up offering volunteer opportunities, from making phone calls to making decisions about the issues that we address. Choose a team that needs people to stamp envelopes or join a team that needs people to stamp our message into the Letters to the Editor sections of local and national newspapers. Plant an idea or plan an event. There will be something for everyone: whether you only have an hour to give, or if you have time for more involvement. If you choose an action team that isn’t quite right for you, feel free to choose another, at any time.
We have a number of action teams already in place but we want to hear from you! Is there an issue that we haven’t addressed? An action that you want covered? Whether your concerns lie with national, state or local issues, let us know! Please email us at email@example.com with your suggestions by Wednesday, May 18th. We will tally the responses and set up the tables accordingly. Don’t worry if you don’t have an idea to share just yet. Come to the meeting to see what interests you.
Don’t sit this one out! We can NOT become complacent about this administration and its outrageous, despicable agenda. You have talents and energy not yet tapped into. We need to do what we can to STOP this administration in its tracks!
